The other day I had a very troubling experience. As I was walking back to my apartment after one of my classes, I noticed a couple of girls ahead of me, talking. These girls happened to be of Asian descent. As I got nearer to them, I completely expected them to be conversing in some oriental language. It never even crossed my mind that they might be speaking to each other in English. Let alone, speaking in English with perfect American accents.
When I got close enough to actually hear them, my head basically exploded. Those two girls definitely grew up in the United States. I'm pretty sure that their parents did, too.
I've been in Provo far too long.
